Read 1 John 2:26-3:3.

“See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are.” (1 John 3:1 ESV)

As the Father has given His love to us, transformed our lives through Christ, saved us, renewed us and continues to renew us through Word and sacrament—all His doing, how then are we to respond with our lives? John provides that insight:

• abide in Him (1 John 2:27) 
• have confidence and not shrink from Him in shame (1 John 2:28) 
• practice righteousness (1 John 2:29) 

We can live in these ways because we are God's children...now (1 John 3:2)!

How will you live as God's child today? How may we help one another to abide in Him?
