“I am writing to you, little children, because your sins are forgiven for his name's sake.” (1 John 2:12 ESV)
In these verses, John took a moment to assure his readers. He assures us of the forgiven of sins—found in Jesus, who is from the beginning. He assures us of the Father—whom we know. He assures that in Christ we are made strong in faith. He assures us of the word of God, which lives in us, having the power to overcome evil.
