Prayer and Proverbs - Day 6 of 31

Read Proverbs 6.

“There are six things that the Lord hates,
seven that are an abomination to him:
haughty eyes, a lying tongue,
and hands that shed innocent blood,
a heart that devises wicked plans,
feet that make haste to run to evil,
a false witness who breathes out lies,
and one who sows discord among brothers.” (Proverbs 6:16-19 ESV)

Consider these things in prayer today. Do you fall into any of these sinful traps? If so, how is God calling you to repent and turn back to Him?

As you follow Jesus, in response to His love for you, how may God direct your actions to that of love as Paul described in 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 (ESV)?

“Love is patient and kind;
love does not envy or boast;
it is not arrogant or rude.
It does not insist on its own way;
it is not irritable or resentful;
it does not rejoice at wrongdoing,
but rejoices with the truth.
Love bears all things,
believes all things,
hopes all things,
endures all things.”
