Prayer and Proverbs - Day 16 of 31

Read Proverbs 16.

“Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established.” (Proverbs 16:3 ESV)

David wrote in Psalm 37:4-5 (ESV), “Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him, and he will act.”

With your work (paid or unpaid), are you…

  • frustrated?
  • anxious?
  • nervous?
  • overwhelmed?
  • losing focus?
  • impatient?
  • unsatisfied?
  • all of the above?

How may first delighting yourself in the Lord change your perspective? How would/does committing your work to the Lord connect with the desires of your heart being fulfilled (a reminder: that heart of yours transformed by Jesus’ love)? In what ways is God urging you to trust in Him as you wait for Him to act?

In prayer today, commit your work to the Lord.
